NIST Roof Garden & Workshops
Designing an educational rooftop garden for NIST International School, and running workshops with students on rooftop farming.
NIST International School wanted a rooftop garden that students could learn from. I designed an educational roof garden for the space — the layout, planting, and growing areas worked through in 3D — built around hands-on learning rather than just greenery.
Alongside the design, I got involved in the school's wider environmental programme. I joined some workshops on stingless bees to assist, and I ran my own sessions with the school's service groups — the Eco Warriors among them — sharing what rooftop farming involves and why it matters in a city like Bangkok.
Several of the photos here are from those workshops. Working directly with the students was the part I enjoyed most: the garden design matters, but it's the people using it that bring it to life.
